D House

A previous client approached us to develop the concept for a new build home in Surrey, set within a lush, green landscape. The design takes cues from a gentle brutalist language, where simple, grounded forms are softened by light, materiality, and their natural surroundings.

Rather than a single dominant space, the house unfolds as a sequence of connected volumes, each with its own character yet carefully positioned to create flow. Circulation is not leftover space but an opportunity - given purpose and generosity, becoming moments to pause, move, and experience the house in a more considered way.

A careful balance is struck between openness and privacy, with spaces that can feel both connected and quietly enclosed. Openings are positioned to draw in views and greenery, allowing the landscape to shape the experience of the interior and creating a close relationship between building and setting.
