A returning client approached us to extend an existing outbuilding, reimagining it as a dedicated den for their three sons—a place to unwind, create, and make a bit of noise without spilling into the main house.

The design transforms the structure into a flexible, multi-use retreat that comfortably accommodates gaming, film nights, music practice, and social downtime, alongside space for more active pastimes. Rather than dividing the space too rigidly, the layout allows different activities to coexist, with subtle zoning to support both focus and play.

The result is a characterful, energetic space that feels distinct from the main home—somewhere between a studio and a clubhouse—tailored to evolve with its users over time.
